Less is more ... rather than overwhelming you with volumes of travel tips, here is a specific list of exclusive recommendations with Mr & Mrs Crystal's stamp of approval.

Andy Wahloo

This Moroccan-inspired bar is tres cool, and despite its off the beaten track location, it has become a hotspot with the uber cool Marais locals. Grab a seat on an upsidedown paint drum, order a cocktail de jour and soak up the sights and sounds of the fashion pack. You will want to hang out here.

Hotel Costes

Inside Hotel Costes, Paris’ most fashionable hotel, is an equally fashionable bar housed in a series of interconnected salons surrounding an internal courtyard. The vibe is trendy, classy and surprisingly casual as though the bar is almost too cool for itself. Keeping with the boudoir theme, even the DJ appears from behind an upholstered wall! Order a glass of champagne, slink into a velvet armchair and take a front row seat at the impromptu catwalk.

As you ascend to the top two floors of Kenzo’s main office, prepare to feel like a king, at Kong. Sitting on Louis XV armchairs on a carpet of pebbles with a seductive view of the Seine it is hard not to feel regal. But the Philippe Starck designer edge (green fluorescent staircase, female face prints on seats and random plasma screens) ensures Kong continues to defy the norm. This restaurant/bar is trendy, fashionable and very Parisian.

Le Bar du Plaza Athénée

When Sex and the City went to Paris, the stylish Carrie Bradshaw took her Manolos to the fashion savvy bar at the Plaza Athénée. Pack your best pout and look out for the long blue-lit glass bar resembling an iceberg and the larger than dramatic lampshade that glows over the outrageously glamorous crowd. The bar visuals are captivating … the holographic fireplace, miniature electric blue chandeliers, and smack on trend cocktails. Once famed for its “Fashion-Ice” alcoholic ice-pops, this cool Parisian bar is hot.

what we think

The capital of France and the world’s capital of romance, Paris is stylishly breathtaking and utterly charming. With inspiring landmarks, manicured gardens and artsy institutions, the “City of Lights” is a million different things to a million different people. The Eiffel Tower boasts grandeur, the Champs Elysées buzzes, and the Seine River flows elegantly, but it’s the city’s inner romance which is so alluring. Shop at the chicest boutiques on the Left Bank, savour a crepe from a sidewalk stand and watch the world go by seated at a sun-kissed Saint Germain cafe. You will absolutely and positively fall in love with Paris.
